In our ongoing series of dance concerts, which have included such productions as Dance Exhibition and Afternoon of Fauns and Nymphs, the NNTT has produced over 50 collaborations pairing dance companies with up-and-coming choreographers. And in this new project, the theatre will stage two programs by Japanese artists whose work is being produced at the NNTT for the first time. The pieces represent a rich variety of expressive forms including solo dances, duets, trios and group dances, promising to make these productions a real delight. Young artists can never be content to follow the fashion; they have to pull out all the stops in creating their art. By giving them the chance to perform here, the NNTT hopes to give promising young artists the boost they need to take their art to the next level. |
