Description:
The ballet that touched audiences and earned rave reviews returns to the New National Theatre, Tokyo
Carmina Burana marks the coming together of British choreographer David Bintley (currently artistic director at the Birmingham Royal Ballet) and the New National Theatre Ballet. Bintley is slated to take over as Artistic Director (Ballet & Dance) at the NNTT starting with the 2010/2011 season. The ballet features a score by Carl Orff that captures the wild emotions and energy of the middle ages, plus the mysterious stage art of Philip Prowse. This stunning production of Carmina Burana played to thunderous applause when it premiered here in October 2005, and audiences have been eagerly anticipating its return. Now, after five years, that moment has finally arrived.
