The Gati Summer Dance Residency will bring together 6 Indian Choreographers for a period of 10 weeks between 10 April and 16 June 2011 in New Delhi, India. During this time each choreographer will be expected to develop a new solo or ensemble performance of approximately 15 - 20 minutes. In addition to regular rehearsals, he/she will also have the chance to attend workshops, discussions, and joint presentations over the 10-week period. Further, the Residency programme will facilitate exchange and interaction between participants and the appointed mentors.
GSDR is a perfect opportunity for emerging choreographers, who are in the early stages of their journey as dance-makers, and who wish to explore and test their creative ideas, develop their choreographic skills and build a working methodology for dance creation.
