Developed during the nineteenth century in the United States, tap dancing has gone a long way and is popular in many parts of the world nowadays. The name comes from the sound made when dancers tap on a hard surface with their small metal plates on their shoes. These steps produce percussion like sound, thus, making the tappers not only dancers but also a percussive musician.

?Tap is Music. Tap is Rhythm. So listen to us.? That is the philosophy of our very own Malaysian premier tap group, Rhythm Tappers @ Malaysia. Started as just a social club in 1992, this group has taken themselves into the next level to become the first tap group in Malaysia.

The Tap jamming session, hosted by the Rhythm Tapper @ Malaysia, invited non-tappers to preview their up-coming first ever full production tap dance showcase to hit the Annexxe KL and also to give them the experience of pure rhythm and energy. The most interesting segment during the jam session was the Tap Orchestra segment where all tappers and non-tappers joined in to create a super cool music rhythm.

So, if you have missed out the jamming session, you can still catch their showcase from 14 to 16 November at the Annexxe, Central Market Kuala Lumpur.
