Wendy Rogers Residency

June-October 2009

Wendy Rogers is an extremely experienced professor of dance from the University of California at Riverside who is doing her residency through the Fulbright Scholarship here at ASWARA. She will be focussed on teaching workshops and classes to the students who are pursuing a Degree in Dance at ASWARA. This is an important project facilitated by MACEE, United States Embassy and ASWARA. The constant need to go beyond has always been the educational philosophy here at the Dance Department. Exposure to new ideas and perhaps even old ideas from a new person can make a big difference in how knowledge is transfered and received. Dance@ASWARA strives for excellence on a daily basis! We cannot let up on this.
 
Wendy will be here through until end of October working on material, choreographic ideas and exploring site-specific work. We will try to work with local organizations such as MyDance Alliance and Kwangtung to offer her services to other dancers.
